The easiest fix would be to change reset your circuit breaker and see if the AC works fine. If it does, then no further action needs to be taken. If the problem persists, then you can consider cleaning the outside filter. In the worst case scenario, your Compressor, or the outside unit might be damaged or broken and may need to repaired or replaced. Compressors are expensive and exchanging it might be the cheapest fix.
As a customer, you can assist the engineers in getting access to your community and the location of the service. The presence of proper paperwork and an active DEWA connection is needed.
When the heat sets in Dubai, chances are, you turn on the Air Condition. But sometimes you need to face a tough time when your Air Condition does not work or times when there is power cut-off. Usually, in very hot and arid climate, air conditioners turn off automatically, and this is called as Air Condition Tripping. Tripping is caused when your Air Conditioner tries to cool more, drawing more amps and tripping your circuit breaker. That is if you have a 20-amp breaker and the AC pulls 30 amps, the breaker trips. Most of the times, even if you reset the breaker, your AC keeps tripping and eventually it never turns on. This is because of frequent tripping that can cause your appliances to heat up, and eventually, create a short circuit releasing a fire.
Common Causes of Air Conditioner Tripping
1) Dirty Air Filter – This problem is more prevalent in the conditions at Dubai. When your filter is dirty, the blower has to work harder and longer to circulate air through the filter. This causes the blower to draw more current and trip the breaker.
2) Circuit breaker Issues – In case your circuit breaker isn’t properly calibrated, or there is some malfunction in the breaker, it may cause frequent tripping. This problem can be fixed by changing the breaker or attaching any loose wires.
3) Grounded Compressor – If the electrical wiring inside the compressor has broken or become loose, it may cause the wires to come to the ground. This causes the compressor to draw more current and in some extreme cases cause fires.
When the components of the AC gets too heated, or they are frequently switched ON and OFF due to frequent tripping’s, the Air Conditioner might not start. This is a severe case of AC tripping and further tampering with the AC may cause more damage.
