AC Services in Dubai, UAE

Any problem with the thermostat of your AC can affect its cooling, start up and normal functioning. Problems like these are generally caused due to insufficient voltage, blowing a fuse or, malfunctioning circuit breaker. Some of these issues may be fixed easily by your own, but most need professional intervention as you could be dealing with very high current and voltages.

Uses of a thermostat

A thermostat has two primary functions. It is firstly used to check the temperature in your room. It then adjusts the temperature of the room to the specified temperature. The thermostat also acts as a controller and lets you set the different modes and the temperature in the AC.

Common AC controller problems

1) Thermostat setting and AC temperature may not match – this is a thermostat calibration issue and can be easily solved. In old thermostats, the meter can be adjusted to the correct temperature using a screwdriver. In the newer digital thermometers, the temperature reading can be adjusted by adding or subtracting a few readings from the meter.
2) The AC cycles are too fast or slow – A thermostat senses the outside temperature and accordingly set the temperature of air flow and cycles of the AC. In case the thermostat is placed where there is too much sunshine or heat, or at a place near to the AC itself, it might get a wrong sense of the temperature in the room. This problem can be easily solved by changing the position of the thermostat, however, changing the position might be tough, especially in the case of old mercury switch enabled thermostats. In this case taking professional help is suggested.
3)The AC does not change from ‘Heat’, ‘Cool’ or ‘Fan’ mode – This is a mechanical problem in the AC or an operating problem in the thermostat. If the AC is old, or if there is some problem in it, then it might stay in the same mode. In other cases, the thermostat might have a defect within it which may be caused by a variety of reasons. Contact your service person to get this issue fixed.
4) Certain Mode’s might not work – No cooling mode in an AC is a big problem especially in the arid heat of Dubai. The problem may be due to a malfunctioning fan in the outdoor unit or there might be dust and debris in the air filter. If the AC has been set in the ‘Cool’ mode and it still does not cool, then it might be a problem with the thermostat wiring or a loose connection in the system.
Home Genie’s trained technicians and engineers are well equipped to handle problems regarding your thermostat or AC cooling. Our services will get your AC fixed and working in no time. We make sure that your AC gives you cool and healthy air all the time by providing expert solutions that reduce your AC power consumption and efficiently cools your home.
